Team Tui Discovery Time

The children had lots of fun playing with the gloop.  Sophie, Bella and Tia thought the cornflour powder felt soft. We added food colouring and water. The water dripped, oozed and squelched through our  fingers. When we picked it up we could roll it into a ball but if we stopped moving our hands it just dripped through our fingers. If we held our hands flat on the top and pressed down it felt like our hands were sinking. Brayden and Lincoln joined in and had lots of fun with the gloop. Tia was a fantastic helper at pack up time. Thanks for helping to clean up the gloop Tia.

It is Hairy Maclary's 30th birthday next week. He has invited the children in Team Tui to his party. At Discovery Time we made dog biscuits. Most of the children tried to make the biscuits into a dog bone shape.

Here are some of our Term 3 Discovery photo's. At our last Discovery Session the children were very excited to see the arrival of the new dolls, the doll's cot and washing line. It was great to see the children from the different classes working together in partnership. Lots of dolls clothes were hung on the new washing line. It was a great fine motor work out and we observed some creative role playing. The children had an awesome time at the play dough table creating cupcakes and pizza for Hairy Maclary's party. They even had candles to put on the individual muffins. It was great to see the children using their imagination and being creative with the role play and they had another fine motor workout when they used the candles, the toothpicks and the knives.

King Tame  (Tame came to school wearing a crown) and Manveer created an elaborate house with a maze all around it.
Well done boys you created this by working in partnership with each other.

The children had lots of fun at the soccer. Harry was very brave when he fell. With little adult support the children were able to organise themselves into teams and include others as they wanted to join in.
