Fairytale Forensics

The porridge has been eaten and a muddy footprint is on the doormat outside. There is an acidic hand print on the window and a drink has been spilt on the table cloth. Goldilocks had been to the cottage but she told her mother she didn't go in and her mother said she doesn't like porridge. There was a note left at the scene and some fingerprints. We examined the evidence to see who stole the porridge.

We examined the footprints and the shoes. The footprints matched Lucy's shoes. There was soil, sand and leaves on  the mat. Lucy had sand, soil and dirt on her shoes. The footprints were made by Lucy's shoes.

We examined the note left at the scene of the crime and checked it against a handwriting sample from Ben, Yuki, Maui and Lucy. The note at the scene matched Ben's handwriting and it was written using Ben's pen.

An acidic handprint was left at the crime scene. We tested the drinks that Yuki, Ben Lucy and Maui liked to see if one of the was acidic. The Raro was acidic and Ben likes Raro.

The fingerprint left at the crime scene was Ben's.

We made up a milkshake, a milo, a cup of milk and a Raro drink and spilt a bit of each to see if it looked like the drink spilt at the cottage. The Raro looked like the drink spilt and we knew that Ben liked  Raro.
