Team Tui - Learning At The Orana Park Zoo School
We have been learning about native birds and how they survive in different habitats. We made a glossary. Some of the words on our glossary are native and habitat. It was fun drawing and painting some of the habitats of our native birds. Then we learnt more about some of our native birds. We sorted some animals into birds, reptiles and mammals. Then we went to the Orana Park Zoo School for a day full of learning. We walked in an aviary with the Kea and saw the orange colour under their wings. Then we drew the Kea and its habitat. When we walked through the next aviary we saw a Tui, several Karkariki and a Kereru (Wood Pigeon). It was exciting for us to see a Kiwi and a Morepork. Everyone loved feeding the Giraffe at the end of the day.
