We have been learning how native birds survive in different habitats. We identified a variety of habitats that native birds live in, such as the shore, the mountains, the canopy of native trees like the Kowhai and Pohutakawa, the forest floor and the wetlands. We explored the wetlands, sketched cabbage trees and flax bushes, and observed wetland birds from the bird hide. The birds were suited in different ways to the wetland habitat.
